Al’s Hot Chicken

Al’s Hot Chicken started in Los Angeles after chef Almasri Abdal saw success when he added a Nashville-style hot chicken to the menu of his restaurant. The restaurant quickly grew to multiple locations across the greater LA area, and Al decided to start franchising. With the growth of his business, I saw an opportunity to do a case study on his brand to give it a look that matched the high-quality food he and his franchisees serve in their restaurants. The new look focused on creating a modern mark that could scale with the growth of his business and would be easily reproduced across on shirts, aprons, menus, and signage. I also focused on adding branded items like food packaging, so that the customer would always receive a consistent product no matter which market they were in.
